Follow in the footsteps of Hercules on a unique hike full of history and breathtaking views!
Just an hour from Athens, Nemea is a place that has it all: history, myths, wild nature, and authentic beauty. Where Hercules once performed his feat with the Nemean lion and the ancient Greeks honored Zeus, today we will walk along beautiful trails, visit the impressive little church of Panagia tou Vrachos and the old castle of Polifengos.
We will see ascetic caves carved into the rocks and enjoy incredible views from the top of the Rock over the plain and mountains of the area. The route ends with a gentle descent, and if you wish, we can organize a wine tasting at a local winery at the end. Nemea is famous for its Agiorgitiko wine, and it is worth tasting it as it should be.
