Activity Description
Experience a unique combination of culture, history, and relaxation on a full-day cruise from Ouranoupolis to Mount Athos and Ammouliani island. This cruise offers a guided sightseeing tour of the monasteries of Mount Athos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, followed by swimming and beach time at Banana Beach.
The cruise departs at 10:30 from Ouranoupolis with the vessel “Ioanna”, taking you along the southwest coast of Mount Athos, where you will admire the untouched natural landscape and the impressive monastic architecture built over 1,000 years ago.
During the first part of the journey (approximately 3 hours), you will pass by the borders of Mount Athos and explore the monastic state from the sea. You will see:

- Monastery of Xenophontos
- Monastery of Saint Panteleimon (Russian Monastery)
- Monastery of Xiropotamou
- Port of Daphni

You will also see the New Skete and Saint Anna’s Skete, while there is a strong possibility to spot dolphins during the cruise.
After completing the Mount Athos sightseeing route, the vessel continues towards Ammouliani island and Tsaska Banana Beach, reached in approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes after the last monastery.
At Banana Beach, you will have around 2 hours to relax, swim, snorkel, and enjoy the beach atmosphere. The area combines crystal-clear waters with lush green surroundings, while music and beach facilities create a vibrant summer experience. The shallow waters make it suitable for children.
For those who wish to explore, there is a path leading to the highest point of the island, offering panoramic views of Ammouliani, Sithonia, and Mount Athos.
After the beach stop, the vessel returns to Ouranoupolis, with the return journey lasting approximately 20 minutes, and arrival around 17:00.
